Integrated with Authorize.net
Act1 Interactive Shopping Carts utilize Authorize.net's ADC Relay Response method
of completing transactions. Below is the process and how we use it.
- CHECKOUT - Order & Credit Card entry on your site
- ORDERSAVE - Saves the order, CC # submit to Authorize.net
- AUTHORIZE.NET - Receives & Processes --> Responds to our server
- RESPONSE - Saves the Authorization codes & numbers
- RECEIPT - Shows customer receipt
There were several simpler methods of making transactions occur with Authorize.net,
but our goal was to use Authorize.net’s ADC Relay Response method of making a transaction.
It was the best method to use, and we felt we were up to designing to the complexities this
method required from our cart. Not a problem, as we studied their transaction methods for
several weeks before designing the process we wanted to use.
The ADC Relay response method allows companies selling their products to take the
credit card information on their websites and transmitt data to Authorize.net,
seamlessly, as if the companies had taken the card information and transacted the
information without leaving their sites. When you have this capability working for
your company, you do not lose the customer from your site and they do not feel you are
lacking on the latest technology. This was the best way to go with Authorize.net., and
we made it work seamlessly with our ordering process.
Integrated with WorldPay
WorldPay is based in the UK but also has an office in the USA. We actually
integrated our JavaScript.Pro Shopping Cart with WorldPay prior to Authorize.net,
and this helped us understand a little bit more about the process we wanted to use
with Authorize.net.
One disadvantage we found using WorldPay was that it did not have a total seamless
integration feature like the Authorize.net did. When a user needs to make a credit
card transaction, the user would need to be taken to the WorldPay site to enter their
credit card information. The response would keep you on their server, and the output
of the receipt page was not as desirable, since it did allow as much customization of
the receipt as we would have liked. This has discouraged us from pursuing a seamless
integrated package with their service, though, we have the system set up to work with them.
